'The Cert I in Construction was very helpful in assisting me with knowledge and practical skills needed in the workplace. Going into the course I had limited knowledge of the construction industry, exceeding no further than school woodwork projects. Through my course I was presented with practical trade situations that resemble real life projects, the safety precautions that must be taken, and the hazards that come with performing certain projects. This allowed me to separate myself from other students through consistent hard work and resulted in me applying this knowledge to my prac in school and personal life. Now I’m a school based apprentice working two days a week, going into full time work next year. I cannot recommend the SCTTTC enough, with the friendly hands on approach from each and every staff member, to the modern teaching techniques creating industry ready trade students it has allowed me to get my dream job.'

"I started at the Trade Centre in 2019 to complete a Cert I in Construction. I knew the trainer had a fantastic reputation and I found it all to be true. I learnt a lot from Rob and appreciate all the time and effort he put into my learning.
I have returned in 2020 to complete a Certificate II in Automotive to open up my options and see what path suits me. I chose to come back on hearing from a friend about the automotive course and how much they enjoyed the course.
I find everyone to be nice and students get along really well. The trainers know what they are doing and are always up for questions or discussion. I feel safe and valued at the Trade Centre and look forward to what my future holds for me."

"I did the Automotive course in 2017. I always looked forward to coming to SCTTTC every week because it’s a change from school, and I really enjoyed getting in the workshop and learning the hands-on side of the mechanical trade.
After finishing my course in Year 11 at SCTTTC, I continued to follow this trade path and was offered a school-based apprenticeship in Year 12 as a Light Vehicle Mechanic. I finished school at the end of 2018 and am just about to enter my second year as an apprentice.

"The learning that SCTTTC has provided me with has been invaluable. I have learnt to work effectively in a team and with other tradespeople. I have gained a broad understanding of the different types of trades involved in construction, such as carpentry, concreting, surveying, plastering and tiling.

I have transferred the skills I have learnt at SCTTTC to my apprenticeship in a variety of ways.
